STITCHING FUNCTION FOR HYPERLAB

The premium Stitching Function empowers users to overcome traditional field-of-view limitations, enabling the capture and analysis of significantly wider areas by transforming multiple individual hyperspectral images into one seamless, comprehensive panoramic dataset.

Expand your hyperspectral view

Traditionally, acquiring a hyperspectral image over a large area often implies compromises or complex manual merging processes.

The Stitching Function allows users to load multiple hyperspectral datasets acquired on the same extended object (e.g., a panorama or a painting) at different locations, with an overlapping region between two adjacent images, and effortlessly create a hyperspectral panoramic image.

By capturing multiple hyperspectral images, similar to how one might use a photographic camera for a panorama, the system automatically combines the spectral and image information into a single composite hyperspectral image. The user can choose the most significant spectral bands and how to perform image registration among different available options. The algorithm will automatically align the images and combine them into a seamless composite image. Additionally, users will have access to some advanced functions (fully described in the manual) to enhance image fusion.

The extension can be activated with a license key directly in HyperLAB.

How it works: simple, smart, seamless

The process is simple and straightforward.

The result is a single, high-quality hyperspectral dataset that covers a much larger area, allowing for more comprehensive analyses at larger spatial scales.

Data acquisition

Simply pan and tilt the HERA hyperspectral camera to acquire a series of partially
overlapping hyperspectral images of the extended object of interest.

Load images into HyperLAB

Import multiple hyperspectral datasets into HyperLAB software.

Automatic stitching

A graphical interface will help you select the parameters and the stitching algorithm will automatically:

Align each individual hyperspectral image, recognising overlapping areas and spatial relationships.

Merge and refine the recorded images, eliminating visible joins and ensuring a homogeneous and cohesive final hyperspectral panoramic image.
